マスクをしてる人が例年に比べて多い印象を受けますが、多分そうなんでしょうね。
インフルエンザ、怖いね〜　ウチの病院でもある病棟からインフルエンザ出て、閉鎖病棟になっちゃったからね。

映画「感染列島」の影響もあって、ウチのスタッフもめっちゃ「感染は怖い。」と気を遣っています。私はまだ観てないけど、同期からの映画の感想が「リアルに怖い。」でした。患者さんには申し訳ないけど、マスクを着用して仕事する事が多くなりました。マスクは表情が伝わりにくいからあんまり好ましくないけど。でもとろみどり、めっちゃ粘膜もやられてきてるので乾燥した病棟はマスクなしではちと酷です。

2、3月の乾燥と寒さを乗り越えて、元気にあったかい春を迎えましょうぅ。

Today we finished our first week of service in school.  And tonight I was supposed to work, but they have an LCC intern working.  So they let me, the guy they have to pay, stay home.  Anyway, the first week of service we had a pretty good menu.  I was in charge of the rack of lamb and Indian curry.  The first day, Chef was really worried about this and that and so kept on yelling at me to pull my lamb out of the oven, even though I told her that they weren’t ready yet.  But I pulled them out for her, and she poked them with her finger and said it was rare.  I temped them at 115 which is still very rare.  I usually try to get to 130 for rare (about 133-135 after carry-over), 137-140 for med.-rare, and 145 or so for med.  I tried to put them back in, but she yelled at me to take them back out.  When the orders came in, I threw them back in the oven for as long as I could, but everybody got rare to under-rare the first day.  From the second day, I told Chef that I was going to cook half the racks to rare and half to medium.  Once she let me take care of them, everything came out at the right temps.  Next week I am the expoditer, so I just call out orders and get yelled at by everybody.  Fun.

Indian curry.  Garnished with a sprig of rosemary even though there is no rosemary in the curry.  I really hate when restaurants do that.

The other night while at work I was asking this really nice Japanese couple if they would like another drink.  They would say “ii desu”  but nod while saying it.  It is my understanding that “ii” can mean no or sometimes yes.  So when he nodded I was thinking he wanted another but I got the feeling that it was a misunderstanding and kept asking to make sure.  So our banter went back and fourth till finally I asked “keko desu”  then he said yes.  We had a good laugh about the situation but I don’t think he noticed he was nodding while saying  he didn’t want another.  Usually I can pick up on what they are trying to say with body language.  This was just one of those times when I just couldn’t really fully understand.  This is not the first time this situation has happened, sometimes I get the beer and come back and everyone on the table starts to laugh and the person who I thought ordered it just looks at me confused.  Then I immediately understand what has happened and take the drink back with a look of embarassment on my face.  These little instances make my job so enjoyable.

お正月に、北海道に行って来ました！（かなり前ですね；；）

メインの目的はスノーボードだったのですが、食べるの大好きなうちの家族は（＾＾；）

札幌ラーメンと小樽のお鮨を食べてきました～！！北海道大好きです♪♪

昨日再び兵庫県南部に帰ってきました。
夜更かししてしまって、今朝大寝坊しました汗
あせった。本当に焦った。
遅刻は免れたけど、本当に危うかった冷や汗

この日はいい天気でした。晴れる日の朝はすごく凍結するらしい。父にならって道に塩を撒きに出ました。凍結防止らしい。どんなけ効果があるのかな？　バケツの荒塩をただ巻くだけなのに…妙に楽しい。。。


夕日

温泉からの帰宅途中、キレイに晴れてて夕日もきれいでした。おばあちゃんを先に家の前で降ろして、一人カメラ小僧になりにプチドライブへ行きました。夕日に向かってパシャパシャ撮ってました。キレいやな。空気もおいしいし。田舎の風景の中にいるとやっぱし落ち着きます。にしても対向車来ない…。


真っ白田んぼ

冬の田んぼは真っ白。今休んで、春から活動開始ですね。
