今、自動車免許を取るために運転の練習をしています。一般道路での運転はだいぶ慣れてきました。しかし、フリーウェイでの運転は苦手です。特に、フリーウェイでの車線変更は、緊張します。少し怖いと感じます。

Nancy and Franklin Chang celebrated their first anniversary with a week long visit to Lanai.  Nancy lived on Lanai 2000-2003 teaching Bible Studies and directing a project to fight youth drug abuse on Lanai.  This was Franklin’s first trip to Lanai.  They golfed at the two signature golf courses at Koele and Manele  and also at the free Cavendish course where Nancy was first taught golf by then 82 year old Noboru Oyama. They preached at the Church of God to the Sunday congregation and to the youth.   Franklin prepared delicious meals for our hosts Randal and Chris Costales and for the Church of God Youth Group.  It was a wonderful week of ministry, golf, meeting old friends and fine dining prepared mostly by Chef Franklin:):):)

昨日は、デジカメ一眼レフの野外教室日でしたが、天候不良のため中止となりました。そこで、次週に延期となりました。こんな日の外出は、大変だったのですが、ちょうど前から頂いてあった妙心寺展へ行くことが出来ました。上野東京国立博物館にて３月１日まで開催中です。

昨年の暮れに京都へ旅して、妙心寺〜へ行きましたので、是非行きたいと思いながらも来れなかったので、最終日の土、日よりはこんな日の方がユックリ鑑賞できるのではと思いましたが拝観者は結構多かったです☆　いつもの展覧会よりも、双眼鏡で細部を覗いたり筆記してる方がおり印象的でした。臨済宗では最大規模の宗派となっている妙心寺派。その大本山である妙心寺は、京都市右京区花園に所在する。ココからは、暮れに撮った写真をもう1度〜見直して楽しめました〜(*^v^*)ニコッ♪





妙心寺は建武４年（１３３７）、花園法皇が自らの離宮を禅寺としたことに始まります。現在に繋がる規模になるのは、１６世紀初頭に広大な寺地が寄進されてからのこと。現在40余りの塔頭をあわせた寺域は、約１０万坪に及び、甲子園球場8つ分に相当するとても此処だけでも一日では、廻りきれない広さであった。








名僧たちの墨蹟［ぼくせき］や頂相［ちんそう］、妙心寺を支援した細川家など諸大名に関する諸作品、妙心寺に伝わる唐物・唐絵、室町時代から江戸時代にいたる多様かつ華麗な屏風や襖絵、そのほかメトロ美術館や、その他の寺院からの展示品等〜〜わが国の歴史や文化を物語るうえで重要。





「龍虎図屏風」の展示は２/１０終了しております。今まで見たら終わりだった私が、写真を撮ったり、説明書を読んだり、いろいろ楽しむことが出来るのは、ブログのおかげですね☆

昨夜来の雪も止み、昼近くには明るい陽が射してきました。

新雪を踏むのも良かろうとウオーキングに出てみると、意外にも強い風が雪を吹き飛ばし、砂漠の砂丘に似た光景が一面に広がっています。

建物や壁の陰になった地面にはくっきりと見える足跡も、壁がとだえるとたちまち風に飛ばされて消えてしまっています。数分前につけた自分自身の足跡も消えてしまっているのですから。まさにphantom footstepsです。

手芸の本をぱらぱらと眺めていると、藍色の布に白糸を刺しただけなのになんともすっきりとした作品が目に留まりました。

もともと手芸は好きで、子供のころに母にフランス刺繍のてほどきをしてもらったので、クロスステッチやスウェーデン刺繍もやりました．

しかし、なぜか、「刺し子」はやったことがありません。　この本の説明だけではいまひとつピンとこないので、無くてもともととオマハの本屋さんに行ってみると、なんと「SASHIKO」の本が2冊も！

著者は英国人の女性で、山形県の庄内地方に英語を教えに行って刺し子に出会い、以来、刺し子の普及に努めています。彼女の本で刺し子の材料の注文先を見つけ、ともかく、刺し子の糸と針を求め、手探り同然で始めました。

目下は、翻訳の仕事の間をぬってやっているので、必要な材料をすべてテーブルの上に並べて、気の向いた時はいつでも手に取れるようにしています。

忙しかね〜〜〜　一回も座らずで足もムクムクなのね〜〜　今日あと一日で…休める！！（泣）そして今日はサークル日。早く終わって、行きたいよ〜〜そしたら、「ほらもう〜、今日はサークルなんやから、早く行きなさい。」と同期が気を利かせて声をかけてくれた。ありがたい！！すみませ〜ん　とお先に失礼。

ちょびっとだけ出られました。サークルの扉開けたら、いきなり…男性陣の「おすっオスっおすっオスっ……！！」（←だったっけな？）と叫ぶ姿。で、こっちを見られたら、こっちも「おーーーーっす！！」っと答えるしかない。100点満点をいただきました。

仕事で残ったエネルギーをそこで全部出し切ってしまったけど。練習ガンバってかんとあと数週間しかないぞ〜。まだまだ完成度低いのに。む〜ん。ファイト。今日で大体半年！！　おめでとうございます！！

Recently I have been playing basketball at the park and I realize how OUT of shape I am. I mean, I could be shooting baskets for 15 mins and get tired. I don’t think its a matter of me being not working out because I go to the gym like 4 times a week. Its just a matter of me not running or doing any type of cardio in long time. Its funny because when I was going to high school in Italy, I remember being able to run all day without any problem. It might have helped that I played sports during all the season and was practically training all year long but that is besides the point. I especially remember basketball season, where sometimes we had to drive 5-8 hours to schools and then immediately play a game right after we got off the bus. And then on top of that, we would have to sleep in sleeping bags in the gym we just played in and then play another game the very next morning. I get exhausted just thinking about it now but the back then, I don’t remember being overwhelmingly tired or unable to handle it. Well, maybe I was tired after the game, but during the game, I thought I could run all day. And here I am now, three years later, and I can barely play for 15 mins without getting tired. I really need to start running again and get back into shape so that I don’t feel like an old man.

This is not about me running a marathon.  I only run when being chased, I am built more for comfort than speed.  I was recently talking to Yumiko and she mentioned that she would be running a marathon this weekend.  I asked her “is it honolulu marathon time again?”  She replied “no, she is just running at kapiolani park for a benefit, about 6 miles.”  So I tried to explain to her that when using marathon it usually refers to a distance of 26 miles.  I told her the story about how the marathon got it’s start.  Michiko heard and thought it was a great story and that I should write about it.  Well the marathon got it’s beginings in greece, during an invasion of the persian army.  A messenger was sent to warn the capital about the oncoming invasian.  During this period in history the persian army was the biggest army the world had ever seen.  The messenger ran as quickly as he could for 26 miles where he delivered the message and upon delivery said message died from the ardous journey.  Now in his memory they have marathon games.

鬼が来たーーーーっ　戦闘体制に入れーーっ！　守備を固めろーーーっっ！！　とまぁ、もはや、こんなノリですよ。機能評価という名の　おにごっこ。はい失言でした、失礼。

院内巡回は12時までって行ってたのに、午後になってもまだ鬼が回ってるって情報が！！　何やってんの！　暇じゃあるまいしもう審査に入りなさいよ！！　と本気で思いました。

数ヶ月前から師長さんがピリピリなり備えてきた機能評価。ここ数日は残業続きで日付が越えることもあり…。何とか乗り越えました。

打ち上げは師長さんからのピザで。お疲れ様でしたーー　今までで一番身にしみる仕事打ち上げでした。そしてご馳走さまの後は今日も残業ですか。。
