Don from Michigan 1/14

It has snowed here the past 2 days. I took some photos of my parent’s home and the street near their home. Thought you might like the beauty of fresh fallen snow.

Best Wishes,

Donald A Feikema Jr.

Here is a photo of Hannah and I. We are both doing well. Hannah just completed her master’s degree in Computer Information Systems at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and has a potential job opportunity at ITT Technical University here in Grand Rapids. I am busy selling real estate. The first half of 2011 has been good, and I am working hard to make the second half of 2011 even better. Summer is just arriving here after a very cool and damp spring.

Thanks,

Donald A Feikema Jr.

State of Rhode Island

Here is a picture taken in Providence, Rhode Island the weekend before
Thanksgiving. My parents, my wife, and I drove to Rhode Island to spend a
few days with my friend, Shui Qing, and his wife, Tian Xi-lun, daughter,
Stephanie, and son Tommy. This picture was taken in front of the state
capitol building.

Thanks,

Donald A Feikema Jr.

This is located at Chateau Chantal–a winery–on Old Mission Peninsula just north of Traverse City. It’s a great place to go wine tasting.

This picture was taken on the 4th of July weekend.

Hi!

Here is a picture of my wife, Hannah, and I at Sunday brunch in Grand Rapids, MI. We were married on September 8, 2007 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This picture was taken the day after our wedding. My wife is originally from Seoul, Korea. My wife is a massage therapist, but is looking to work at one of our local schools as a teacher aide or in the computer lab. I am still selling real estate in our depressed market. I’m completing a sale this Friday for $6,000.00. Yes, that is the sale price. It has 4 bedrooms, 1 bath, with a 1 stall garage.

The weather has cooled after a very hot spell. It rained tonight. I’m busy with work right now even though real estate is supposed to be slow here. I’ve had my busiest year ever. I’m thankful and I hope to continue to stay busy. I just spent the weekend up north with my family to celebrate the 4th of July. It was short but we had fun together. The big events coming up here are the Coast Guard festival in Grand Haven at the end of July, and there will be various local fairs and summer activities. This is the time of the year where most people work until Thursday and take a 3 day weekend to get away to there cottage, go camping, or do some activity outside they love to do. I’ve played golf in a league with my dad. We did poorly in the first half, but we had a good time.

Aloha,
Don Feikema

Letter from Michigan 10-2-06

Good Morning Everyone,

I am happy to say that fall is in full swing here. The leaves are changing color, the apples and pumpkins are ripe, and the cool, crisp air of fall is back. I hope this finds everyone in good health and happy. The only thing I find annoying about this time of year are campaign ads on TV and radio. I can’t wait until the election is over in November.

I spent a quiet weekend at home. It was great to just catch up on sleep after a very busy year. I wish you all well.

Good Morning Everyone,

I don’t know how weather is where you are, but we have been hovering around 100 degrees for the past 3 days. I am so thankful for airconditioning in my car and home this time of year. Summer time is the busiest time for business in real estate. At the end of each month, we are extremely busy working on closing our transactions and then at the beginning of the month we’re trying to get more new business.

My parents will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on August 20th. We are throwing a party at Blythefield Country Club from 12-4pm in their honor. Their health has stablelized, but they are monitoring my mother every other month for breast cancer and my father’s ability to walk has not improved with the back surgery. He’s kind of depressed that the results weren’t better.

I wish you all well.

Letter from Michigan 6/5/2006

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I enjoyed our summer weather without the high humidity. Saturday night I went downtown to enjoy the “Festival” we hold here annually. Unfortunately, it rained, hailed, and lightning ruined those plans. Yesterday, was perfect but I had to work and couldn’t enjoy the festivities.

The Pistons lost on Friday night to the Miami Heat. Too bad.

I had a great month in real estate and June looks like another great month. I’m hoping interest rates don’t go up, but it’s a double edge sword because it’s getting a lot people off the fence and buying. The first quater here was just awful. People were hesistant because there was no sense of urgency and a ton of stuff to choose from. I don’t know how long this buying trend will continue. I think in a couple of months we’re going to be hard pressed to get a sale. I’m saving what I’m earning for that rainy day fund to keep me going through the slow times.

Hope all of you are well.
