For this new year i plan to get in shape. One of my coworkers told me that i had put on weight over the winter break. I could see it was true because of all the eating i did during the Christmas Eve and New Year Eve party. But getting in shape is not easy. I tried one time but gave up. It’s very hard to commit to dieting and exercising. But now i have a friend that is willing to commit with me so i won’t suffer alone.
The food at Macao were good and tasteful. Some restaurants are very expensive and some are very cheap, it depends on where you go. Macao is known for their egg tart. To me the egg tart was very delicious. Most of the food were Chinese or Portuguese. If i had to choose either Chinese or Portuguese food. I would have to go with the Chinese food.
Last week i visited Macao. It is part of the Republic of China. It is also known as the Chinese version of Las Vegas. There are 3 islands of Macao, which are Macao, Taipa, and Colonge. The currency they use are MOP and HKD. First thing i like about macao are the roads. The roads have alot of corners and turns, which i thought was cool because i was riding a scooter there. It felt like how i ride my motorcycle back home. The traffic there are so different from Hawaii. There are a lot of people that ride scooters because finding parking is hard. The people that ride scooters could just cut pass cars in traffic and it’s not legal to do it over there, but here in Hawaii it is. That’s why Macao have Grand Prixel.
When i was young i always wanted a dog. They symbolized the best friend you always wanted. They would play with you and protect you always. The type of dog i wanted was a WOLF-DOG hybrid like the dog in the movie “BALTO.” I guess watching that movie got me into wanting a dog. And so i asked my parents if i could have a dog. And they told me if i wanted a dog i would have to take care of it. That meant cleaning it’s “POOP”. I thought that was gross so i decided not to get one after all. Now and days i developed this uncomfortable feeling around dogs and cats. I guess from watching those shows about good pets gone bad.
My favorite food is the chicken sandwich at McDonalds. The chicken sandwich are so good. I practically can eat it everyday and not get tired of it if i had no choice. I prefer their chicken sandwich over jacknbox’s because two reasons. One reason is because they are little cheaper. Before they used to cost the same but a while ago jacknbox changed their price over various reasons. Second reason is the comparison of their chicken, McDonlds tastes a little more spicier.
There are a lot of Japanese tourist that shop at ABC stores. They mostly buy souvenirs and macadamia nuts. In the evening they like to buy ramen noodles. So i ask if they want a spoon, fork or chopsticks to eat it with. They sometimes ask for hot water or to just use our microwave.
Most of them like to buy beer and alcohol. They ask me if they can buy just one beer and not have to take the six pack beer. I tell them yes you can, just break one off and take it. They also ask if they can mix the six pack bottles because they want to try different flavors. Sometimes i’m not sure if it’s in their genes or traits but they tend to look so young, so i have to tell them to show me either their ID/passport or japanese Driver’s license. Sometimes when i look at their birth date i can’t believe that’s how old they are. Some of them are not aware that we stop selling liquor after 11:50pm because it’s the state’s law. It was so funny how one of them responded when i said that we can’t sell him liquor because it’s pass the time and with a surprised look on his face, he said, “huh, dame.” Sometimes they would beg, and i would let some slide, since it’s only 2 or 3 minutes pass 11:50, but they had to hurry.
I tell them to save their receipts because with 100 dollars worth of recpits they can get a free gift. After i added up their receipts I ask them if they want to have their receipts back in case for records, if not then i throw it away for them.
I started this program since August 26 and its been very fun. My pronunciation of Japanese characters has improved. My memory of Japanese characters improved with repetition of my stories being read over and over again. I’m starting to have more confidence in speaking the Japanese language.
