I am leaving to Japan tomorrow. I started taking lessons 6 months ago, because I wanted to be able to practice some japanese in japan. I am very excited. We are going mostly to dance hula and tahitian, but I am sure I will make lots of time to eat. I am not looking forward to the 8 hour plane ride, but I am looking forward to the destination. Now I have lots of stories that I can tell people in japan.

We are planning on going to Japan in September for a Tahitian competition. There are two competitions. One in Tokyo and one in Osaka. We will have a booth at the competition promoting our Tahitian workshop. Tahitian is becoming very popular in Japan. We hope to make contacts on this trip, so we can promote our workshop next year. We hope to share new songs with these groups, and certify teachers to dance Tahitian.

We normally like to go camping on long weekends. It has been a while since we went camping as a family. This year we called it hotel camping, so we stayed at Koolina. Everyone got to do camping stuff. My cousins went diving. Some of us went surfing. Some of us stayed by the pool. We did all the camping stuff, except sleep in tents. I think I like this camping better. We have a trip planned next month to go to Molokai, and do real camping. My grandpa will take us to a far beach and we will camp over the weekend. I hope someone catches a lot of fish, or else we will be eating a lot of coconuts, and drinking a lot of beer. Actually, we will probably be drinking a lot of beer whether we catch fish or not. Its going to be a hot weekend, so I will probably come back really BLACK. Cant wait to go real camping, but I wish they had a pool.

My sister just had a baby about 7 months ago, and they have been living with me until they find a new place. They are moving out at the end of the month. I did not like being woken up in the middle of the night, or changing dirty diapers, or feeding him. But I will miss having my nephew around the house. He just started crawling, so he has been making a mess and knocking things over. We cannot keep our eyes off of him, because he is getting so fast. Take your eyes off of him for 5 seconds and he has something he is not supposed to have in his hands. Just a month ago, he got his hands on a hair clip and ended up biting off one of the pieces. We were happy he did not choke on it. It will take a while to get used to a quiet house.

I have a big extended family. We do a lot of things together and one of the is Zumba. My aunty teaches 2 classes in Pearl City. They are on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:00. So everyone goes to support her class. Its a big class, on average there are 40-50 people there. Normally my mom and dad goes, my grandma, my sister, my cousin. Then there is my Aunty and her husband and my dads brother. We all take the front row, and it is a lot of fun. Its really just go at your own pace. If you do the dance moves enough, they start getting easier. The class lasts for one hour and we sweat a lot. I don’t think I am the most coordinated person. When I am supposed to go left, I go right. The main thing is we have fun, and I just want to get a good cardio workout in. I normally workout 3-5 times a week, and this is something easy to do on the days I dont really feel like working out. It is probably the activity that breaks the most sweat. I play raquetball with my Dad and I dont sweat nearly as much as when I am doing Zumba. I can go running and hiking and I still dont sweat as much as Zumba. I dont know what it is about jumping around and dancing, but it must be really good for the body if it can make me sweat like that.

In addition to shabushabu, I love to eat sushi. Recently I have loved eating Hamachi. Now I do not look at eating spicy tuna rolls, or any kind of rolls. I just want to eat hamachi. As soon as we get to the Japanese restaurant, I order 2 orders, to start. Probably by the end of the meal, i will get one more order of Hamachi sushi. The last time we went to a Japanese restaurant, I order Hamachi sushi, Hamachi sashimi, and a steamed Hamachi dish. It was a little out of control, but when I see so many Hamachi dishes, its hard to choose just one. I only realize the damage when the bill comes.
I think the best Hamachi sushi I have had was in California. It was really fresh there and it was really cheap. I think all together my family had 12 orders of Hamachi sushi. One restaurant we went to, we ordered so much Hamachi that they ran out. We heard the waiter next to us telling the other table that they were out of Hamachi for the night.
If there is no Hamachi sushi, then sometimes I will eat salmon or ahi, but not a lot. I would rather eat the vegetable side dishes, or some kind of butterfish.

About one year ago was my first time to Kobe. It was very cold and we really wanted to spend some time at an onsen. The onsen we wanted to go to was in Arima. None of us had been to Arima before, and unfortunately the JR line did not go there either. So we needed to catch several buses to get there. We finally got there and had to walk about 20 min to the onsen. When I got into the onsen I was surprised because the water was a brownish gold. They had two kinds of water, the brownish gold water which was hot, and the regular clear water that was cold. Even though the brown water looked dirty, I was freezing, so I chose the gold hot water. I figured this had to be a good onsen because it was the most crowded one that we had been to. This water was also the hottest. I stayed in the water for 15 min and I could already feel dizzy. I tried to stay in as long as I could but, I had to get out. When I got out my face was bright red and I was glowing. I felt great. I guess this brownish gold water was some good water.
