This year, I am going to go to Las Vegas again! I get to see snow again! Hopefully, I will be better at snowboarding. Sadly, only my immediate family is going. I won’t have any cousins to ride with me. My family is thinking of making our trip to Las Vegas to see snow as an annual event. We are also going to go to L.A. We will go Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm. Hopefully it won’t be too crowded. I can’t wait. The only sad part about this trip is that our dogs would be lonely and hopefully they are alright while we re gone.

I am a junk food eater. Ever since I was a child, I always disliked vegetables. Its weird how my family made it such a big deal when I was a child to eat my vegetables, but now they don’t really mind. I basically eat noodles and meat everyday. Either that or I eat McDonald’s food. I’m addicted to their french fries. The best part about them is that they are skinny and very salty, just the way I like it. I am also a fan of Starbucks, which contains a lot of calories, yet I still have one everyday. I like fruits, but my brother hogs them and sometimes hides them. Hopefully, I go on a diet.

I was flipping the channels one day and a Korean drama appeared so I started to watch it. There was a young man who was heartbroken from his ex-girlfriend and suffered under some medical conditions. This caused his family to worry, so his mother went to Vietnam to find a wife for him. She found a half Korean and a half Vietnamese lady who could speak Korean. His mother arranged marriage with the lady and her son. Her son was very mean to her yet she wanted to make everything work out. She actually used her marriage so she would be able to live in Korea and look for her father who abandoned her when she was a baby. On their wedding day a wise woman told this lady something like, “A marriage is not complete by finding the perfect match, it is complete by being the perfect match.” Eventually they both fell in love with each other. I really like this phrase because we tend to look for someone who is so close to perfect, or at least try to find the right one who has the qualities we would want them to have. Especially if we have friends who love talking about the romantic things their boyfriends or girlfriends do for them, and they compare and contrast with each other. It seems like a competition to find the one that everyone would want. This quote reminds us that we can enjoy the relationship more if we both try our best to make the relationship work. Hopefully I will remember this.

Over my fall break, I went to L. A. with some classmates to visit some colleges. We visited seven colleges. There were four sophomores, two juniors, and a senior. Since there were only two juniors and one senior, we shared a hotel room. Our hotel was really pretty and it was really clean. We left on Friday night for the Red Eye flight and arrived at about four in the mourning of Saturday. We had no time to sleep, so we went automatically to visit two colleges after we ate breakfast. We went to Disneyland after we arrived at our hotel. Disneyland was so much fun. On Sunday, we spent the entire day at Disneyland which made the trip unforgettable. On Monday we visited three colleges and went to this huge mall. Tuesday was our last day in L.A. so we visited two colleges and went to the airport. We arrived at about 7:30pm in Hawaii. I am so happy I was able to go on this trip. I did so much shopping I could not fit everything into my suitcase, so I had to carry a giant Disneyland bag and shove my jacket and purse in it so it would pass as a handbag. I learned so much about the colleges and how to prepare for colleges. Hopefully, I will be able to get into a wonderful, fun college. It was so much fun my family and I want to return to L.A. again this winter during my winter break.

This week was Freshman week at my school. Every year the teachers pair up each Junior student with a Freshman student. We usually do this so we can help the Freshman out since it is the first year of high school. Since my school is all girls, we have big sister and little sister. The Juniors are the big sisters, while the Freshman are the little sisters. This year we have a lot of people in the Freshman class so some Juniors had to take two sisters. On Freshman week, we have special days each day. On monday, we dress up our little sisters and we have to be dressed up the same way. On tuesday, we were able to have a free bento so we can eat with are little sisters. On wednesday, the Juniors and Freshman got flowers. On thursday, we had to dance to get ice cream. Today, we had the Freshman initiation, which is a day where the big sisters get into different groups and make up a routine of our dance. My little sister is super good and our entire group did a really good performance.

Last winter vacation I went to Las Vegas and I was able to play with snow for the first time. This year, my family and I are planning to go to Japan for my very first time. If we go during my winter vacation, my grandparents may not come with us because they said it is too cold. However, if my family waits until spring or another vacation, my grandparents will come with us and we will be able to see our families in Japan. I haven’t met anyone in Japan so this will be very exciting. I hope we go sometime soon.

Today was Sacred Hearts of Academy’s  100th birthday.  We had every grade gather in the gym to meet and celebrate together our school’s birthday. It started out with a few announcements. They brought out a cake my previous English teacher baked. It was really pretty. There was a magician at our school that performed magic tricks and made everyone laugh. There was also a time capsule that was left by all the students 25 years ago. There is a school tradition that every 25 years all the students put something into the chest and one of our sisters hides it in the chapel. Everyone ate cupcakes during break and we had shorter classes. This was a good day for everyone.

I don’t really like vegetables, but my favorite would have to be edamame. I liked it ever since I was little, and I ate it almost every day. I always ate it as a snack, so whenever I want something throughout the day, I would crave it. Usually, I eat it with salt, but even without salt it still tastes good. My mother would buy me an entire package from the freezer isle and boil it in a pot. There are also some packages where the edamame is already inside a small container. Inside the box there are little packages of salt. The edamame is already inside a microwavable container, but we need to slit it a couple times before microwaving it. Hopefully, I will like more vegetables.

My favorite color is pink. It has been my favorite color since the time I was born. Although it is my favorite color, I am not super crazy over it. My room is not pink, but orange. I have many items that are pink, but I don’t try to get everything pink. I am not really sure why it is my favorite color. I think it is because I was given many pink items as I was growing up. I just bought my dog a pink collar. It even has diamonds. I think he looks really cute, but my brother totally disagrees and wants to take it off. My dog is mostly black with some brown so it is really hard to see him at night, which is why I bought him a bright color color. I hope to put more pink things on our dogs to get my brother mad.

I got my cup back on Monday. I made it for my aunty. It is not what I expected. I thought my bowl would look ugly and my cup would look pretty. It’s the complete opposite. I don’t like the color of my cup. We had to glaze our cups and my teacher said that the glaze called turkish is a nice reddish brownish color. Its not even red it looks rusty brown. I dipped the rim in emerald and splashed some white to make it look polka dottie. The dots didn’t show. My cup has a really big handle. I should have pulled up the walls of my cup more because the bottom is so thick. I should have cleaned up the inside more so it would be smoother. I hope my aunty will like it.
