2年半ぶりにナコスにお邪魔しました。せっかく来ましたが　かわいいドルチェがいなくて残念です。　前は一生懸命走りまわっていたのに。　やはりさみしいです。思い出があるからそれを持って帰ります。私の姫路の大西先生にも　帰ったらお話しするつもりです。

久しぶりのハワイは少し都会になりいろんなビルがふえています。今回は本当に短い間しかいませんが今度はもう少し長くいられる様に。

同じ姫路の良子さんとは同じ英会話教室に通っています。

お城に登っているとき、修三さん美智子さんのうわさをしていました。
くしゃみ出ませんでした？　あとワンチャンのドーチェ名前また間違ってます？
元気だそうで嬉しいです。　サムさんは昨年の５月から日本語を勉強してるそうで
上達が早いですね。　感心しました。ではまた。

It’s October already, but today in Himeji the temperature is 84° F. It is really hot. The district’s Fall Festival is over, so next is the Nada “Fighting Festival” on the 14th or 15th. This festival is really powerful and moving. People, not only from Himeji but all over, come to see the festival. The omikoshi portable shrines bang into each other and the excitement of the crowd rises. The people of Nada spend the whole year preparing for this event. Till next time.

秋祭り

もう１０月なのに、姫路の今日の温度は２９度です。本当に暑いです。この地区の秋祭りは終わり、あとは１４、１５日の灘のけんか祭りです。このお祭りは本当に勇壮で迫力満点です。姫路の人だけでなく、他からもたくさん見物に来ます。御神輿（ｐｏｔａｂｉｌ　ｓｈｒｉｎｅ）が、ぶつかって見物客が盛り上がります。灘の人達は、この日の為に１年間がんばります。では、また。

It’s been a while．This is Machiko Adachi. I finally got a computer.Yesterday, I asked my English teacher, Yoko, how to open the Nagaya page. That is why I was able to visit the Nagaya  page and say thank you. Here in Himeji it is very hot. I think Himeji is hotter than Hawaii. Everyone is fine. The Himeji Nagaya members are all fine. I really enjoyed my time at Nacos so I wanted to say thank you. Sayonara.

Today, I met a Hawaiian quilt artist named Winona. Also, I was lucky to have a hula lesson from her. In hula, the different hand movements have all kinds of meanings: waves, mountains, sky, stars, love, flowers, ship, moon, wind, child, etc. In ancient times, the hula was used to communicate one’s thoughts to others. I really had a splendid time. I touched the Hawaiian spirit.

　今日、私は、ウイノナさんというハワイアンキルトを作るアーティストとお会いしました。そして、ラッキーなことに、その 方から、ハワイアンフラのレッスンを受けることができました。フラには、手の型で、いろんな意味があります。波、山、川、空、星、愛、花、船、月、風、子 供などなど。昔は、フラで自分の思いを伝えたそうです。私は、本当に素敵な時間を過ごせました。ハワイの人達の思いにふれることができました。

In Japan, there is no custom of giving tips, so when we come to America, whenever we buy something or go out to eat, our brain is full of having to calculate tips. However, I was surprised at Andrew’s cell phone. It had a function for calculating tips! I want one, too.
 
チップの計算

　日本ではチップの習慣がないので、アメリカに来ると、何を買うにも食べるのも、頭の中は、チップの計算でいっぱいになる。しかし、アンドリユーのケイタイにびっくり。なんと、チップの計算ガイドがあるんだもん。私も欲しーい！
