The title says it all. Someone combined the 2 best things in life, green tea and ice cream.
Nice reward after a hard days practice.
I just remembered that I forgot to take pictures of me at practice:( Next time

Todays lesson seemed to be super hard:/ I have to practice much more I guess to become better but… sometimes I wish it would come a little bit easier. I messed up on phrases a lot more than usual. I guess thats just part of learning though. I mean If everything came easy, that would be boring.

I can officially say the flu sucks. I was sick for the past two weeks and was not able to study Japanese as much as I wanted to. Although I was sick, A lot still happened. For example I found another job. I now work as a cashier at the Navy Exchange. Its pretty fun, and because its only part time I only work on Friday through Sunday.
Also my birthdays next month! Hopefully I can past my drivers test so I can start driving. Its going to be nice to drive instead of taking the bus. The only thing is that a car is so expensive. Also the end of the semester is coming which means I have to register for another semester and pay for the classes. Everything cost money… but I have a job now so hopefully that’ll help. Hopefully I never get sick again because its horrible. well I’m happy because I’m healthy again. At least I think…

Kanji is super hard!!! Right when I think I memorize what a kanji means, Its pronounced differently in a different sentence. Well I guess I’ve come a long way. This is my 18 lesson here at Nacos. I understand a lot of the questions they ask me now and I’m slowly getting it. 18 lessons ago I would barely be able to read hiragana let alone kanji. In these 18 weeks I have written 7 short stories and now I’m in the process of memorizing them all as well as the kanji in the stories. Anything worth having is something you have to work for right? I’m learning little by little.

Well so I plan on taking Japanese for a long time and I really enjoy learning more about the language. As I was telling my counselor she asked me if I planned on making it a career. I thought about it, but never that much. She tried to convince me to go into teaching so I can become a English teacher in Japan. Only problem is that English is really my strong point. I can speak it, but thats about it. I don’t think I can teach it. But still, it got me thinking, maybe I could change my major to something more Japanese oriented. I’m not sure yet but hopefully theres something I can find.

Well, its been 15 weeks since I first started, well technically its 16 because I missed one week. 15 lessons I’ve had with senseis’. I feel like I’ve learned a whole lot since I first started. I understand some of the questions they ask me, compared to the first couple lessons when they had to ask the questions over many times for me to understand. Its nice now, there isn’t the same feeling as being lost as the first day. I remember in the beginning feeling so lost but now, I finally feel like I’m catching on a little. Every lesson brings me one step closer to my goal and I’m looking forward to it.

Well, Green tea to me is by far the best drink out there. Not only is it healthy but it’s delicious too! I started drinking it when I was a kid, my mom got me in to it because she used to always drink green tea too. Eventually it became my favorite. After moving away from Hawaii to the mainland I haven’t had it as much. But when I moved back down to Hawaii I fell in love with it again. Its green, which is arguably one of the best colors in the world, and it’s delicious and healthy. Its a win win situation. I swear, I think I could live off of that stuff.

Working is not fun. Its the exact opposite actually. I work at a fast food restaurant and its pretty horrible working there. Not only that but it feels so degrading working there. Especially when friends see me working. After having my first job my new goal in life is to find a job thats fun! At the very least a job that I’m proud to have.

Lol well its been more or less three months with one class a week, and I’m still committed to learning Japanese. My teachers are extremely persistent with me even though I forget the word 2 minutes after they tell me. Regardless of my short term memory I think I’m doing fairly well. I learned Hiragana and I can recognize some kanji but my katakana’s still messed up, but I can always fix that. Kanji is super hard too!!! I still haven’t grasped the full concept of it but I guess I’ll get it eventually. Looking back I feel so much more accomplished by seeing how far I’ve come. I’m eccentric and ecstatic to learn more. Well, I guess I should re-memorize katakana first. I remember what Shuzo san told me today, he said ” You will always be learning a language, its forever.” If its always this rewarding looking back and seeing how far I’ve come and learning new things, I wouldn’t mind learning forever^__^

Last week 3 of my real good friends ended up leaving. 2 for college and 1 for the marines. Im going to miss them, even though they said they’ll be back in 4 months. It makes me wonder though, if we’ll still be good friends as we are now… well I guess only time can tell right?
